The White Tiger - Review

India and China are deemed as the next super power of the world . There is steep growth rate for both the countries, and constructive development everywhere .The book is written in this context and presented as a series of seven letters to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. Indian development is quite restricted to some big cities which have struck Gold with MNC's coming there. Most of the other part of India where this urbanization have not reached still lives in their old ways. The author tries to bring about the reality of this "Urbanization", which is plagued with curruption .
The book can be devide in two parts the one in which balram halwai is in his village or in Dhanbad . The next can be the one when he comes to Delhi with Ashok .First part shows the atmosphere of the village , poorness, misery , and corruption prevalent there . you feel pity for Balram Halwai his Father and brother Kishan . Author has been able to bring about the contrast b/w rich and poor , and miseries of poor but it felt author overdid it (may be putting in some thoughts from many books). The first part was OK(Humor looked forced) and quite predictable .
Its is the Second part from where th story picks on .It dealt with the how the whole system prevalent corrupts Ashok and then slowly Balram,(Narrator calls himself the White Tiger),Who is keen for breaking the shackles of the Rooster coop he lives in .
The "Urbanization" of India is U can say 'LuckByChance' for such a chaotic "Democratic"(democracy for select few) country with such a prevalent Pessimism about countries future and may be a civil war . Politicians, our leaders ,lead us with a prime example of 'Corruption'. They motivate us to be opportunists , whenever u get a chance make as much profit you can .
Balram Halwai is shown to be a simple village boy till always ready to serve his masters good(obviously he has some traits of the white Tiger forced in a cage ) . With his eyes the author has shown us the truth about those people who come from Darkness for better life in Delhi(The Light) ,eventually living in more Darkness. Balram sees how his masters use to grease the politicians, acquiring the most important skill for any Indian Entrepreneur ;)
Then he decides to kill and rob his master and set free .The rest of story is predictable,Balram becomes a successful Entrepreneur ,knows how to deal people who matter(The Double P:- P&P) and so on .
We Are developing ,developing fast ,Money is flowing in the country like never before .May be we are not prepared for it .Or precisely our leaders !!! who seem to make think of themselves only ,neglecting common people .The money is not reaching the under developed . I just hope we learn quickly and take some leaf out of the book .

GULAL ............a review NOT ...

This weekend i got to watch movie : GULAL by Anurag Kashyap . and i must say i wasnt disappointed by this Bolly flickat all. I just cant stand those songs running around trees :P . If you came here searching for some formal review of gulal movie giving u teasers of the movie you can stop reading it , and google another page . Itz my perspective of the film . As i said i rarely watch bolly movies , particularly hate those meaningless songsand item numbers (which account for major earning of movies ;) ) ; this was not much different in that respect , but the way songs(1 or 2 only in the film ) were mixed with the storyline , the way story moves with it , it seems a perfect way of presenting the complex plot. Movie deals with student politics , local rebellion to gain Back Rajputana , lead by Dukkey Bana(Kay Kay Menon) and the brother-sister couple (Aditya and Ayesha(Kiran ....forgot the name of brother :P)), the illegitimate children of an erstwhile Rajput king, trying to get the name o...
