Time To Relax

Yesterday ,Our project head in MTNL told he quite liked my blog and the posts(esp. the one in which i wrote about MTNL :-P ) . Actually he reminded me to write something new . So am here investing my time to write something new .But wait what should be the topic of the post . If You missed it then ,today is the the 10th anniversary of the Kargil war . So that would be the most appropriate topic for today' s post . Kargil War aka "Operation Vijay" ended on 26th July , 1999 . It was one of the toghest wars to win especially the "Tiger Hill" . After bearing up with the boring look of ubuntu , for quite a time , primarily due to lack of free time (dont think m a completely vella now days) , I decided to spice my Ubuntu a bit . Above is the snapshot of my latest desktop .Isnt it Cool ? Without going into technical details(I plan to keep this blog tech free , as much as i could, but no one knows the future ;-) ) Let me point out sm special things .First is at the right , displaying all specifications of my pc ,dynamically .Moreover i can change every thing there by just a small script . Next is the cool look of the boring terminal . and if u noticed , kde apps on ubuntu(amarok and ol ). I have kde installed on ubuntu too :-) ,Never forget noticing the panels and system theme . Mind you for all this , i havnt put much of extra resouce hungry apps. So not much loss in ubuntu speed . In fact for all practical purposes , loss of resources is negligible . This weekend i got to watch movie : GULAL by Anurag Kashyap . and i must say i wasnt disappointed by this Bolly flickat all. I just cant stand those songs running around trees :P . If you came here searching for some formal review of gulal movie giving u teasers of the movie you can stop reading it , and google another page . Itz my perspective of the film . As i said i rarely watch bolly movies , particularly hate those meaningless songsand item numbers (which account for major earning of movies ;) ) ; this was not much different in that respect , but the way songs(1 or 2 only in the film ) were mixed with the storyline , the way story moves with it , it seems a perfect way of presenting the complex plot. This hillarious looking tag line was used by a person, trying to woo visitors to watch Well Of Death( Maut Ka Kuan ) . In my previous post i mentioned about my visit to fest in Hardoi . It was complete fun out there ,reliving those childhood memories . But a brand new experience for me was Well Of Death(as a child i was never allowed by my parents to see it) . Actually in well of death the bikers ride their bikes , cars etc - in a well,performing different stunts -quite dangerous i must say .I made a short video clip of it (Itz not complete) : Me and my sis went up the well to see the next show quite early to get a proper place for a better view(if u notice in video this is is always an houseful event ) . Two bikers performed the stunts , then a person came and started driving the car in the well too . Guys, I was back in town from Lucknow, this morning, and had to rush to college immediately.No,not for classes but for the technical fests that are going on in the college now days . I have had quite a busy schedule with all those BOTS programming, fests preparation , and in midst of that i had to go to Hardoi, Lucknow(for some personal reasons) . Even though due to the trip, i lost my chance to participate in BITS(Troika-C/C++ competetion) and BYTES(overnight C/C++ online compe. ) , but comparing the rich and amazing experiences there , i am quite happy now .( hmm.. for bits, - i won it in 1st yr only , so not that much imp for me and bytes - came quite close to winning last time..no regret 4 it tooooo) . Well for experiences , i can say and write pages and pages on it , but will restrict my self with some posts,on it . I hope u enjoy it as much as i did . This trip was basically due to some religious reasons(some hawans and Puja) , but as usual this trip for me meant a lot of junk...

Today was quite an eventful day for me . Or may be it became , after i received my SCJP Certificate from sun . Indeed i got the certificate quite early.  I passed the SCJP certification Exam on 9th dis year . But as opposed to my sister's certificate(Ya , she's SCJP tooo) mine is a bit different and the SCJP badge was missing from the package .In the letter they asked me to get the badge(logo) online and if i want then i will be mailed the badge .May be they have changed the system a little bit  .  Anyways , I am happy to be officially Sun Certified Java Programmer

Guys i am sick of mtnl's so called "Customer Care" .m writing this post in shear frustation . I have trib500 combo plan and m supposed to get 2mbps speed but that's just on paper . A while ago i used to get it though .But then (a yr back or so) one day i saw broadband speed plummeted below 20KBps.may be sm server error or so.I ignored and waited .But that 'server error' Never got corrected . i cant actually guess the reason for that sudden schange in speed , but i think it may be due to mtnl's upgrading my download limit from 500 mb to 2.5gb(a free gift with *Condition Apply??) ,or my choosing for IPTV connection too. I have called up mtnl 'cutomer care' ,countless number of times.Let me give u the 'Customer Care' Scenario.
